Garden of a B & B

This is the front garden of one of the many Bed and Breakfast inns around Saugatuck. We might have a short gardening season in Michigan but there are some great gardens to view in the area.

What is it??

I think Saugatuck must have one of the most camouflaged bathrooms that I've ever seen. What do you think?

Out of town visitors

We were out for a walk with our dogs and we usually meet lots of people who want to talk about their dogs (or ours). This couple is from the east side of the state and she was missing her 4 legged friends and stopped to pet ours and chat. That's how it is in Saugatuck - friendly people just relaxing in a great town.

Locals

It was a lovely night out, so we took our dogs for a walk. It was not too busy in Saugatuck tonight - I think everyone is waiting for the long 4th of July weekend coming up. This is Maria (well, half of Maria) and one of her dogs, Bowie, a Chihuahua/Greyhound mix. He's a handsome fella, don't you agree??

Summer Storm

We've had a LOT of rain lately and there is another storm coming in from the west. This photo is taken from Lakeshore Dr just southwest of Saugatuck. The road comes to an end just beyond here from storms several years ago that eroded the dune that the road is build upon.

Welcome to Saugatuck, Michigan. A delightful small town located north of South Haven and south of Holland on the shores of Lake Michigan. It's known as an artists' haven and is a hot destination for summer vacations. Hopefully, I can do it justice and you can get a feel for life in Saugatuck.
